What strategies do we implement to ensure that everything remains fresh?
When we successfully catch our bounty, we make it a priority to bring plenty of ice aboard our boats. Although our trips are relatively short, we ensure that as soon as we box our catch, it is immediately iced. We transport our catch on ice and in a temperature controlled vehicle.
This means no spoilage or temperature variation.

Fun Fact: Did you know that all boats selling their catch directly to customers are required to undergo a comprehensive inspection and receive certification from the local authority.

If you find yourself fishing almost every day, what do you typically do with the fish and shellfish you catch?

That's an excellent question! We proudly sell our catch to local restaurants, local fishmongers and or offer it at auction. Once sold, it will be distributed throughout the country and across Europe.

Buying with confidence?

Fresh fish will exhibit clear, bright eyes, vibrant red gills, and moist, shiny skin. The tail should be firm and stiff, and the flesh should feel firm. Finally, the fish should smell like the sea!

We ensure the quality of our catch by fishing short trips. We fish inshore and carry ice on our vessels so that every fish is handled with care!

In certain situations, it becomes essential to purchase from reliable and trusted sources. This means each fish can be traced. For example; Salmon has to be ordered in. Salmon is a protected species in England.

Fun Fact: Commercial fishermen are not allowed to handle, catch or land Sea Trout or Wild Salmon. The repercussions could lead to boats being detained, revocation of operating licenses, and staggering financial penalties.

Some anglers have licenses to handle such fisheries.
